Tips for staying active and healthy during the pandemic

1. Create a routine

Keep yourself accountable by waking up at a consistent time and scheduling workouts. Having a routine also makes things feel like they are a bit more normal.

2. Workout with a buddy

Whether it is your mom, a roommate, or a friend (socially distanced, of course), it is a great way to keep you motivated. 

3. Try something new

Keep your workouts fresh and entertaining by trying something outside your comfort zone. Luckily, there is a plethora of content available online to try something new. 

4. Track your progress

Seeing yourself get stronger is oh so rewarding and will push you to continue working towards being your best self.

5. Try new recipes

Now that you are stuck at home, it is a great time to learn to cook! Discovering new healthy recipes can be so fun and also help elevate your fitness. 

6. Introduce meditation/Reflection 

The current environment has everyone stressed and a little on edge. Practicing meditation five minutes a day will clear your mind and help destress.

Journaling is a great way to reflect and take time for yourself.

7. Read a book

Reading is not always the ‘go-to’ activity for relaxation; however, it is an excellent opportunity to step out of the current environment and explore something new.

8. Exercise outdoors

Before the pandemic, most people got so consumed with daily life that they did not take time to get out for a breath of fresh air. Whether it is riding the bike that has been sitting in your garage for far too long or walking your dog, getting outdoors is an excellent way to decompress.

9. Go for a walk

Not every workout needs to have you dripping with sweat. Simply getting outside and getting your body moving makes a huge difference in your physical and mental health.

10. Sleep

A lot of people neglect the importance of a good night’s sleep. Sleep is a major healing agent and is the time your body uses to repair itself.
